Since 1967 we supply austenitic high manganese steel X120Mn12 (werkstoff 1.3401) from our forging units.
The surface of this material work hardens by means of heavy load or impact and reaches a hardness of 500 HB while the core stays tough with a high yield. So when you want wear resistance but you also need to be sure the equipment doesn't break down because of severe conditions, forged austenitic high manganese steel should be your choice.
